Truss Fitting

Our Pharmacists are able to measure and help you fit a surgical truss if you have a hernia. We will only supply a truss ( surgical support) if it is recommended and prescribed by your doctor as it may not always be the appropriate choice of treatment.

A hernia is the protrusion of an organ or tissue through the muscular abdominal (belly) wall or downwards into the scrotum. Hernias occur for many reasons including heavy weight lifting, severe coughing, and blows to the abdomen, posture and obesity. If you have a hernia you can usually see and feel a bulge in the lower abdomen, groin or scrotum. This usually becomes more obvious when you stand up with also a more painful heavy dragging feeling being experienced.

WE have a confidential area where we can measure and fit the appliance, or alternately we can provide this service at your home at a mutually convenient time.

We will not supply a surgical support for you to use if you are not able to push back your hernia as this may be dangerous to you as it may become strangulated. This causes the blood flow to be cut off to the area of intestinal tissue, with associated pain, nausea, vomiting and the inability to have either a bowel movement or pass wind.
